Overview

We are searching for a dynamic, highly motivated and goal-oriented Category Specialist – Portuguese Portfolio covering Northeastern United States. This individual will be responsible for sales to key accounts, working with suppliers, distributor managers, and sales team, conducting special events, and providing market information to the Northeastern Group Manager.

 

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the position include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • 85% focus on account management / 10% focus on distributor interaction / 5% administrative
  • Maintain a key account list and develop personal relationships with key buyers/owners and managers
  • Work with key distributor personnel to sell brands to on- and off-premise key accounts
  • Propose and conduct on-/off-premise promotional events
  • Conduct wine tastings, wine dinners, and training/educational seminars for consumers and trade
  • Review monthly account performance
  • Identify market trends and opportunities and propose action plans to Northeast Group Manager
  • Manage own quota of depletions, placements, and qualitative efforts

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience selling fine wines in both on- and off-premise accounts
  • Must have a proven track record in developing new business, managing existing accounts, and maintaining business relationships
  • Must have exceptional closing skills, strong verbal/written communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion and knowledge of fine wine & wine regions, as well as mixology and gastronomy (CSW, WSET, or other similar credentials a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong computer skills are a MUST (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be 21 years of age

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch on a daily basis
  • Must be able to travel within the territory up to 50% of the time

 

The base compensation range for this job classification is between $85,000 and $95,000. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service and geographic location. This job classification is bonus-eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
