Overview

We are searching for a dynamic, highly motivated, and goal-oriented Regional National Account Manager, Off-Premise North Central to be based in the Chicago, Illinois market.  This individual will be responsible for sales to key off premise accounts, working with distributor managers and salespeople, conducting special events, and providing market information to the Director of National Accounts Off-Premise.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • 45% Account management / 40% Distributor management / 15% Administrative duties
  • Maintain a key account list and develop personal relationships with key buyers/owners and managers
  • Work with local distributors and suppliers to sell brands to key off-premise chain accounts in IL, MI, WI, OH, IN, MN, MO, WV & KY
  • Educate / Inform / Motivate chain distributor salespeople
  • Support local Kobrand Market Managers with distributor management along with providing input and support to planning and review meetings
  • Perform market sales/distribution blitzes and surveys
  • Develop monthly merchandising execution plans by chain to align with programs and account goals
  • Propose and conduct off-premise chain promotional events to promote our brands at the consumer level
  • Accountable for increasing distribution and case volume in a defined universe of chain accounts
  • Identify market trends and opportunities and propose action plans to the Director of National Accounts, Off-Premise
  • Manage market universe POS needs
  • Utilize Nielsen/VIP data to identify account-specific opportunities for the Kobrand portfolio and create data-driven sales presentations

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years calling on National or Regional Accounts with multiple state responsibilities
  • Must have proven track record in developing new business, managing existing accounts and maintaining business relationships
  • Regional corporate experience & relationships with the following accounts a plus: Jewel/Osco, Mariano’s, Woodman’s, Meijer, Schnuck’s, and Spartan Nash
  • National corporate experience & relationships with Kroger, Target, and Walgreen’s a plus
  • Must have exceptional closing skills, strong verbal/written communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion and knowledge of wine, wine regions and the wine industry (CSW a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong computer skills are a MUST (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 40% of time
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be 21 years of age

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch on a daily basis
